What we did :
while the 800cc prototype engine was designed and made by French manufacturer Akira Technologies, we designed, fabricated and tested the whole rolling chassis, from the top triple clamp to the wheel axles. The engine being structural, the swingarm was mounted onto it rather than onto the short aluminium frame. Like Honda MotoGP at the time, the rear shock was also mounted within the swingarm. FEA was used to anticipate chassis and swingarm displacement and stress under various relevant loads. A bench test was created to correlate with reality. All manufacture and assembly drawings, with appropriate geometrical and dimensional tolerances, as well as tightening torques and lubrication indication, were provided to manufacturers and mechanics.
