We offer classes in person, with a limited number of students, over 1 or 2 days going through all the topics you will find in the following pdf files (download) . Classes are interactive, reactive to questions and curiosity, allocating extra time where it is wanted.
At the end of this course,
> you will understand all or most aspects of chassis setup (geometry, chain pull, springs and hydraulics, linkages, gearing, rain setting)
> you will learn how to visualise and analyse engine and chassis data, with correlation with the theory of chassis setup
> you will be educated as to how to organise yourself to optimise your job as a crew chief, with tools and the appropriate mindset. Key points such as problem solving and communication with the riders and the crew will be discussed.

Those programs work on Excel. They have been used for years in the World Championships, and are now adjustable to work with any bike.
Session Planner :
Organise your sessions so you can anticipate the number of laps for each run, when to add fuel, when to change tyres.
You will be able to set it for any race track, any session duration, dry or wet conditions, allocating time in between runs, and setting up alarms for low fuel or max laps on the tyres.
You may add comments about planned setup changes for the mechanics or yourself. Whether you use 1 or 2 bikes, this nicely tuned program is easy to handle and so useful to make the best of your time on track.
Gearbox Calculator :
This simple program allows you to compare 2 gearbox setups.
You will be able to enter three gearbox options, including primary, and choose the rpm at which you wish to change gear.
Speed and swingarm length will be calculated according to your bike, your tyre diameter and your chain type (525, 520, 450, 428).
Final Gearing according to desired top speed and swingarm length :
Enter a window of your desired top speed and desired swingarm length, and this program will show you all appropriate options for your final gearing.
You may use any chain (525, 520, 450, 428), you will be able to adjust the program to your bike and its swingarm.
Front & Rear Springs Calculator :
For the front and for the rear, you will be able to compare 3 options of spring setup.
Main spring, preload, top-out spring, bottom-out spring, you can set it all.
This program shows you the forces values, too often forgotten in this kind of program, for you to get a sense of scale of the forces involved.
A standard graphic will show you the visual comparison. Simple and efficient.
